*Immunization Reminder*
State Health regulations dictate that students cannot attend school unless they are properly immunized and can provide satisfactory evidence of immunization, unless they are exempted. For school attendance, children should be immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B and meningitis. Varicella is required for Kindergarten through fourth grade. All children must provide documentation of the month, day, and year of vaccine administration.
If your child is entering Kindergarten.. Your student will be due for immunizations before school starts. For Kindergarten, students will need TDAP, IPV, MMR and Varicella vaccine.
If your child is entering 8th grade.. Your student will be due for immunizations before school starts. For the 8th grade, students will need a TDAP and Meningitis vaccination.
If your child is entering 12th grade.. Your student will be due for immunizations before school starts. For 12th grade, students will need a meningitis vaccine.
Vaccinations can be obtained through your primary physician or at the Carter County Health Department. The Health Department is open from 7:30-5:30 Monday through Thursday. The Health Department will also be hosting a back to school fair on Friday, August 4th from 9am-12pm where they will be offering school immunizations and physicals. Please have your updated immunization records sent to the Health Office. These immunizations MUST be complete before school starts. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me.
